Romanchuk & Co. Wins Two ACG Houston Deal of the Year Awards
THE WOODLANDS, TX - The Association for Corporate Growth (ACG) Houston, last night announced the Deal of the Year winners at the 5th annual awards ceremony at River Oaks Country Club. ACG Houston's event celebrated Houston's booming middle-market deal community, honoring the deals and deal makers who drive middle-market growth and their success in generating job-growth, capital formation and the advancement of meaningful business relationships in the Houston community.
Romanchuk & Co.'s transaction, the $218.4 million acquisition of Front Line Power by Orbital Energy Group, was recognized as the Utility, Power & Infrastructure Deal of the Year, and was also honored as the Houston Impact Award Deal of the Year, which recognizes the Deal of the Year that drives the most middle-market growth in the Houston region. Our transaction had several connections to Houston, including Houston-based sellers, buyers, two investment banks as well as the seller's attorneys, BoyarMiller.
The finalists and winners were selected by an independent panel of esteemed judges and top business leaders including Eric Bruce, CPA, Manager at Crowe LLP, Ernest Hunter, CEO of The Frenchy’s Companies, Michelle Suarez, Partner at Holland & Knight, Jennifer Whalen, CFO of The Bristow Group Inc, Ken Wiles, PhD, CFA, Executive Director of Hick, Muse, Tate & Furst Center for Private Equity Finance, and A. Kelly Williams, Managing Director at Milestone Venture Group, Inc.
The criteria for the nominations includes a closing date between January 1, 2021 and December 31, 2021, where the company being transacted, or strategic buyer, is based in the Greater Houston area. The nomination criteria included details such as transaction value range, industry focus and type of transaction as well as anecdotal commentary on what makes the deal unique. Judges evaluated deals based on the parties’ submissions as well as the overall story, economic and strategic impact, stakeholder value and professional expertise.
